An evening of hope...

I am very blessed to call the congregation at Hillsboro Church of Christ my church family.  For years, the country of Honduras has been a mission focus for many members at Hillsboro.  Five years ago I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Honduras where we worked with the Church of Christ in Mateo and built homes for local church members.  It was the most rewarding an enlightening experiance of my life.

Since these trips began over six years ago, good friends of mine have started a non-profit foundation, Path of Hope Foundation, to help fund the education of Honduran girls.  On December 5th, 2009 Path of Hope Foundation sponsored the first Evening of Hope event, a dinner and educational event in efforts to raise more awareness and involvement.

I was asked to decorate the event space which was held in the chapel at Hillsboro Church of Christ.  With no funds for table decor, we used donated glass vases, pine cones, ornaments, along with inexpensive pepperment candies and artificial snow to create and wintry and festive decor.  I hope you enjoy some pictures from the event and I ecourage you to visit their website at http://www.pathofhopefoundation.org/ to learn more about the foundation and why they have chosen to support the education of honduran girls and to get involved however you can.
